What Holds Up
This is written for US readers navigating US shelves, in US shade ranges and US units, through a humid Atlantic summer and a dry, radiator-heated winter, through pumpkin-spice season and Black Friday hauls alike. We test with that climate and that calendar in mind.
About Us
Tested Before You Buy
Beauty Ratings Guide runs independent, comparative tests on the products Americans actually buy at the drugstore, at Target and CVS, at Sephora and Ulta Beauty, and increasingly through Amazon.com. Everything we test is purchased anonymously at retail, the way a reader would buy it. We do not accept free samples for review, we do not run sponsored rankings, and we do not sell anything. Our job is narrower and, we think, more useful: to tell you plainly what performed as promised, what didn’t, and why.

Beauty Ratings Guide
Foundation that survives a humid commute, mascara that doesn’t migrate by noon, a lipstick worth calling a holy grail, a fragrance that reads true from morning meeting to evening plans. We compare across the fair-to-deep shade spectrum and across formulas, not just marketing claims.
